Our Programs
Academic Support & Tutoring
Planned tutoring and academic coaching to help students catch up, keep up, and build confidence in the classroom.

Services are planned to include:
- One-on-one and small-group tutoring
- Academic coaching
- Study skills and homework help
- Progress check-ins with families
Goal: Improved grades, fewer school absences, and steadier academic progress.
The need this program addresses
Students who move between shelters, motels, or doubled-up housing often change schools and miss instruction. Falling behind academically is one of the most common — and most preventable — consequences of housing instability.
Who this program serves
Homeless and underprivileged K-12 students in Spartanburg County who are behind grade level, at risk of failing a class, or simply need a steady adult to help them stay on track.
Where this program stands today
A pilot tutoring and mentoring program is part of our first-year launch plan. We are recruiting volunteer tutors and building referral relationships with schools and shelters before services begin.
Ask about eligibility or availability
Parents, guardians, counselors, and shelter staff can tell us about a student who needs academic help through our Get Help page. We will follow up as the pilot program opens.
Get HelpHelp make this program happen
Volunteers can serve as tutors. Schools and youth organizations can refer students and host sessions. Donors fund learning materials and tutor coordination.
